DECIMO

I.G.P.

Decimo is obtained from grapes grown on calcareous soils, rich in stone content, in the Veronese Hills of Tregnago.

These hills, located at 400 meters above sea level, surround the Cà dei Conti estate, which has been owned by the Rancan family for over 300 years. With dedication and passion, they carefully limit production to just 1.5 kg of grapes per vine.

The Cà Dei Conti property, is placed at the foot of Precastio montain, in the Tregnano city, on 5 hectares of land. The vineyard is located on a 400 – 450 metres above the sea hill  and it is completely south-facing.
Marl-limestone morainal soil, rich in structure. Thanks to these characteristics the wine has a optimal structure and alcohol richness.

Planted in Guyot on benches, with dense planting system, it counts about 9000 plants/ hectare. Each vine produces only1kg of grape.

The grapes are harvested by hand in 5 kg crates, starting at the end of August.

Once at least 3,000 kg of grapes have been collected, crushing and maceration take place for about one week at 8°C. Fermentation, lasting around 40 days, occurs at 20–23°C with continuous skin contact. Afterwards, the wine is separated from the skins, racked, and aged in stainless steel.

Il Decimo shows a deep, vibrant ruby red colour. On the nose, it reveals aromas of violet, cherry, and blackberry. On the palate, the wine is intense and elegant, with a long and pleasant finish.

Served chilled, around 12°C, it is ideal as an aperitif. At a slightly higher temperature, between 16 and 18°C, it pairs beautifully with a full meal, especially light and delicate dishes.
